Bundled up babe.

Check out this adorable leopard hat!! I got it last year for Elena but it actually fits her better this year. She loves to be outside and the chilly weather doesn't slow her down one bit!
There are also matching mittens which are just too cute! Too bad they only stayed on for about 1 minute! She started trying to shake them off as soon as I put them on her, hence the blurry hands. :)

I'm already starting to see a little attitude from Miss Elena - look at this pose!

I thought I would leave you all with some pictures since it may be a while til I post again, we are heading down to Texas for a week to visit Robert's family. I am really looking forward to it! I will take plenty of pictures and catch you all up on our week as soon as I can! Oh, and please wish us luck since we are driving for 14 hours with Elena! Yikes!! :)

Flashback Friday - Roomies.

My junior year at Newman 3 friends and I moved into a house together. It was the first time I had ever lived in a house as opposed to a dorm, or duplex, etc... My 3 friends were Bailey, Josie, and Rowe. We got along great which is a good thing because we all played softball together as well. We had many, many fun times in that house! The reason I am reminiscing about the 4 of us is because we actually all got to see each other this week! Which is rare because Josie and Bails don't live here anymore. Bailey is expecting a little baby boy on Valentine's day so we were able to get together and celebrate! She looks fantastic and is going to be a great mommy! :) Here we are in 2003 at our house:

and here we are in 2009:

Amazing how time flies! We are all married now - interestingly enough we all got married in 2007, each 2 months apart from each other! Me-April, Rowe-June, Josie-August, and Bails in Oct ~how crazy is that?! I have a little one, Bails has one on the way and maybe sometime soon Josie and Rowe will jump on the bandwagon as well! ;) Then we can get all the kiddos together to play! I have many great memories with these girls and wish that I could see them more often!

Lesson Learned.

Elena has always loved baths, but I guess I didn't realize how much she loved them until tonight. I went into the bathroom and started the water, turned to go into Elena's room for a diaper and her jammies and when I came back into the bathroom this was waiting for me...
I guess she could not wait any longer to take her bath!!! Wow! Lesson learned~don't leave the door to the bathroom open while running a bath unless I am ready for her to be in the water!!

Nothing cuter.

I really believe that there is nothing cuter than puppies and babies, especially when they are together!! Lindsay brought her puppy Kya over to play the other day and Elena had so much fun! Elena was excited from the moment she saw the pup!

They played for a while on Elena's couch.

Kya gave Elena lots of kisses.

Elena played at her table and tried to give Kya a drink. So funny!

Elena just had to put her tutu on (of course) and Kya thought that was pretty fun to chase!

They played with lots and lots of toys. This is my absolute favorite picture of the two of them!!
Lets just say Elena has a new best friend! :)

Flashback Friday - Me and T.

This Friday I would like to reminisce about one of my best friends, Marie. November is a great time to think about what you are thankful for and I am thankful that she is a part of my life. It all started at Newman University, Coach Thomas was one of my softball and basketball coaches. We got along well but not any different than any other teammates or coaches. Then I started sitting up front with her on road trips and we got to know each other very well. When you take 3 trips up to Nebraska in a season that is a lot of road time! We learned so much about each other on those trips and it was the start to an everlasting friendship.
I love how in this picture we are doing the exact same thing~so funny!
Marie moved to Texas shortly after but we stayed in contact over the phone and through e-mail and even though we were further away we managed to grow closer to each other.

Once she moved back it was like she had never been gone! :)
Robert and her have become very good friends too. She was even the maid of honor in our wedding!

Marie is a person who I truly believe that I will be close to for the rest of my life. She is a great friend!

TuTu Cute!

So a new funny thing that Miss Elena has been doing (actually for a while now) is getting her tutu and bringing it to us to put it on her. It is pretty stinking cute! She loves wearing it!
I think the funniest is when she wants to put it on with her jammies! It looks so hilarious! This is a common sight around our house~Elena in her jammies with a tutu on carrying a book around!
I have a feeling she is going to like playing dress-up when she is older! :)

100!

This is my 100th post! Can you believe that? I sure can't. It is just amazing how time is flying by with this little one! I'm so glad that I started this blog ~ it is like scrap booking for me! Which I would love to do also but just don't have enough time for! So in honor of this 100th post I am going to do a list of 100 things that I am thankful for! Just kidding, that would take way too long and probably get boring reading through them all. So I will give you 10 things I am thankful for and throw in some cute pictures I took of Elena this weekend in her adorable sweater dress and matching hat! :)
1. My wonderful husband, Robert, who works very hard to take care of Elena and I and who I love more every single day.
2. My beautiful baby Elena, who has totally changed my world for the better! Now I can't imagine life with out her!

3. My mother, who is supportive of everything I do and is always there for me. She has definitely shown me how to be a wonderful mother by example!
4. My father, who has been watching Elena when I'm at work. He has saved so much stress and money for me I don't think he even understands how much he has helped! Elena is definitely Grandpa's girl!

5. All of my other family members who, even though most live far away, are still very close in my heart!
6. My job, I could not ask for better people to work with and they are so understanding and flexible when it comes to my schedule and Elena! I love it!
7. My close friends, who really do seem like family to me. They are always there for me no matter what and I hope they know the same is true for them!
8. Our freedom and to those who are serving and have served in the military to provide that freedom for us.
9. I am thankful for our house and the food on our table and I do realize that there is a much harsher world out there for some.
10. I am thankful for an amazing God who has blessed me and my family in so many ways!

Leave a comment and let me know that you have enjoyed my blog as much as I have so far!!

Flashback Friday - Related?

It is so amazing to look through old family pictures and notice the similarities in you, your child and your other relatives. I have been doing this a lot lately because I made a video slideshow for my parents for their 30th Anniversay. I came across this picture and totally had to do a double take! This is my mother around age 2 and it looks so much like Elena it is amazes me!

Hmm...maybe Robert and I should stop questioning which one of us she looks more like! :)

Trick or Treat!

After we made it home from the pumpkin patch it was time to carve our pumpkins! Elena was not really sure what was going on or why we had these things sitting on out kitchen table!

Then we started carving away and she thought the pumpkin 'guts' were pretty funny feeling!

The funny thing about these next two pictures is that Robert and I were totally not posing in these~this is how focused we were in carving our pumpkins! :)

And here is the final product!

I did and "e" for Elena and a good ol' jack-o-lantern for myself!
While Robert had to get fancy and make a person in bed scared of (what else) a Longhorn!

I think Elena was pretty happy with her "e"!

We played with the pumpkins for a while and then the trick or treaters started coming by.
Elena was pretty confused as to why Daddy was giving them stuff but she didn't care as long as everyone said hi and played with her!

Then we decided to visit some of the neighbors. She looked so cute walking with her little pumpkin!

I'm pretty sure she is pointing and laughing at a tombstone! What a goober!

She looked up at our neighbor like "what am I supposed to do with this" when he set down the candy bowl for her.
In fact, she tried to put her candy into his bowl~ too funny! Then she got the hang of it and took hand fulls out to put in her pumpkin!

These neighbors did a Haunted House in their front yard that we got to walk through. Elena was holding on to Daddy's hand pretty tight!

Elena was excited about all the great stuff in her pumpkin!

After we were finished, we went inside and let her have a lollipop for the 1st time. She was pretty happy!!

Happy Halloween everyone!
