Valentine Fun.

We had lots of fun for Valentine's Day this year! I picked up this cute mailbox last year on clearance at Target and brought it out for Elena to decorate. She loved it!

We did this a week before Valentine's Day and each morning she would get up and check her mailbox and I had a fun little surprise in it for her! They included princess rings, a Hello Kitty pez dispenser, a Snow White shirt, mini plant/flower kits, bracelets, and of course a princess tiara! :)
She got to do Valentine cards to give to her classmates this year and I asked her if she wanted to buy them or make them. Of course my little project lover wanted to make them! So I got out the construction paper, glitter, jewels and markers and she went to town. She even wrote her name on each card all by herself!
We continued our tradition of heart shaped food by making pizza and cookies this year (Check out all of last year's Valentine Fun). I had to be out of town for work this year on the 14th so my Mom came over the weekend before and we celebrated a little early! The pizzas are so fun and Elena has a blast helping! (oh and they are super yummy too!)
and who doesn't love heart shaped cookies??
This is what happened when I let Elena do sprinkles by herself! A little too much, even for her! Ha ha!
Besides eating the cookies, I think E's favorite part was playing with all the flour that was left on the table after all the baking! What a mess!
Valentine's Day finally arrived and my Mom made sure to take pictures for me of her little class party. :) She said Elena loved handing out her Valentines, she was so proud! And her teacher was very impressed that she made her own!
They did a really cool project with contact paper and tissue paper pieces. It made a wonderful stained glass like heart that is hanging in her window and she just loves looking at it! What a great idea!
What better way to round off the party than with cupcakes? Yum! Whew, what a busy love month!
Oh and one last thing about Valentine's Day - it marked 16 weeks for this pregnancy! (Took this picture a couple days after the 14th but you get the idea - starting to get quite a little bump already!) This pregnancy is flying by, soon we get to find out if it is a boy or a girl! I can't wait!!

Preparing for the MVP!

A couple weeks ago I got to help throw a sports themed baby shower for one of my best friends, Sarah! She is having a little baby boy in March and I am so excited for her and her hubby!! I love sports so this was very fun to plan! I had my amazingly talented friend Kylie whip up so adorable invitations that looked like tickets to a sporting event - they were perfect!!
I might have gotten a little excited about making "ballpark" food for the party. There were nachos, pretzels with cheese, giant pickles, twizzlers, hot dogs, peanuts, root beer and popcorn! In other words, a pregnant girl's dream - lol! :)
Then it was time for Sarah to open all the gifts - there were tons!
and Sarah was even nice enough to let Elena help open the biggest one! ;)
There are a lot of people that can't wait to meet this baby boy!
Instead of a baby book there was a basketball to autograph which will go in his room with his birth stats on it (can't claim that idea though, Sarah's cousin thought of it - great idea!!) The party favors were Big League Chew and Cracker Jacks bundled together.
Congratulations again Sarah! Aunt Molly can't wait to meet sweet baby Jack!!

Fun with Friends.

Now that I have finally caught up on blogging (Look back through Dec if you missed them - I dated them in Dec because I swear I will make a book out of this blog one of these days!!) and also let you in on our little secret I can finally get back to the present time. :)
I got to take my princess Elena to Disney Live a few weeks ago! What a fantastic idea for a little girl who is obsessed with everything princess right now! I also went with two of my good friends Kylie and Jenny and their adorable princesses too which made the day even more special!
It was basically an elaborate stage show of the stories; Snow White, Cinderella and Beauty and the Beast. It was great! The girls loved it!
You can tell how much they loved it by these huge smiles! :)
The big finale! Elena's favorite part was definitely Beauty and the Beast. It was so much fun and I am so glad we went!
A couple weeks ago I also got to get together with a group of friends for snacks, drinks and crafting. It was a really fun night!
Kylie found this great idea for a Valentine craft on Pinterest and had all the supplies on hand for each of us to make one. All it took was scraps of cute paper, a heart punch and a glue stick! (She even printed off a grid of equally spaced lines so we knew exactly where to put the hearts!) What she thought would be a simple, quick project turned into hours of making different variations of it! :)
Here are a couple samples.
Like I said, LOTS of variations! Lol!
I just had to make a pink and yellow one for Elena's room (yes, still her two favorite colors!). She was ecstatic when I gave it to her! I found a white picture frame at home and used some yarn I had on hand so thanks to Kylie this adorable wall decoration was absolutely free! And so far E has only pulled off one heart ;)
