I thought I would share some pictures of how the kitchen is coming. First Robert pulled out all the cabinets.
Then he re-built some of the cabinets that needed it. After that it was time to sand them down so they would be ready to paint before they went back in.
Then it was time to get started on the counter top. We found some tile that we really liked at Home Depot but the ready made sheets were a bit expensive, so Robert rented a tile saw and cut larger less expensive ones down to the size we wanted.
Then we, well mainly Robert - I just snuck in for a couple pictures ;), started to lay out the tile.
We decided to do a darker color of the same type of tile for the back splash. We have always liked that mosaic-random-type look so we smashed them up and then got started. Not a quick process!!
Very impressive! Nice work guys!!

ReplyDeleteWe miss you guys! When are you coming back to SF??? :)
Wow! Looks so good! You guys are so ambitious - that mosaic tile is a CRAZY amount of work, and requires so much patience. Good for you!
