We finally got a chance to explore the new Children's Garden at Botanica. It opened in early July and we were waiting for the weather to cool off a bit to check it out. This place is amazing!! My mom and I actually got to take a tour with her National Association of Women in Construction group a few months before it was ready to open and the finished product blew us both away!! Here is the entrance~
Following the yellow brick road~
This mosaic tile fountain greeted us after we walked in - Elena thought that it was so awesome. It is shaped to look like the middle part of a sunflower.
Then we went over to an area where kids can water plants. This is one of Elena's favorite things to do at home, so she jumped right in and had a blast watering.
Then we ventured into one of the cutest little playhouses I have seen! Elena cooked and cleaned and had a great time.
This little pond has stepping stones that children get to walk across if they want. I have never seem my little daredevil so nervous before!
She took this very seriously!
Then we headed to this giant tree house. The architecture on this thing is pretty amazing - it is not wood but it looks so real!
She headed to the top to see if we could find any pixies. Do you think Tinkerbell lives here? :)
Then we came out the other side!
Next was a sand and water area that was designed to look like an ant hill. Sand+Water=Happy Toddler!
After the ant hill we went through a musical maze. There was a place to make thunder and rain sounds~
Her favorite part were definitely the giant xylophones~
Finally we came to an area that looked like The Very Hungry Caterpillar book - one of Elena's favorites!
There was even a little dress up area! Too adorable!
What an awesome garden for kiddos! We will be back again and again to enjoy it!!!
