Indluge.

On the last Friday of the month a wine bar in town has a wine tasting/dinner event. My best friend Linsday just happened to be in town on this night so we made it a date! :)
My date and I ~
The meal started off with apple and walnut salad with honey herb vinaigrette - paired with Angove Nine Vines white wine. Holy smokes! What a fantastic start!
Next course was Vichyssoise (potato, leek and fennel soup) which was pretty much an amazingly creamy potato soup! Loved it. The wine was Yalumba Viognier. It really is amazing how pairing the right wine with food brings out amazing flavors in both. (I need to get better at doing this!)
The main course was apple brine pork chops in a cherry-herb pan sauce with celery root puree.  What you ask? Pure deliciousness! Top it off with Chocolate Box Shiraz and oh man - so freaking good!
The dessert was rhubarb crisp with cinnamon vanilla ice cream. Yummy! This didn't come with a wine - boo! So we asked for a recommendation and tried out a Prosecco. Great compliment to the sweetness of the dessert!
What a delicious and fun way to try out not only new wines but also new food! I think we will definitley be doing this again!
After the dinner we decided to hang out and have a couple of beers.
Then we went out to a couple more bars where we used to hang out in college. Lets just say this little picture sums up the rest of our night! :)
