Elena loves watching Super Why on TV, and I love it because it is a very educational show about reading! While we were watching the other day there was a commercial talking about an ice skating event coming up. When Elena heard this she was so excited! It was a great deal - bring a book and the child skates for free and the adult pays only $6. So we left the little guy behind and had a little Mommy/Daughter ice skating date! :)
We definitley stayed close to the edge when we got on the ice!
What was great about the event was that it was also Clifford the Big Red Dog's 50th birthday so there were lots of fun things to do! Elena got to sign his birthday card and then meet him!
Then she got her face painted with a butterfly and got a butterfly balloon animal.
Then we decided to hit the ice again!
She even got brave enough to let me lead her out to the middle of the rink! There were a few tumbles but she had a blast!
We decided that was enough skating for one day! Then we headed out and found a make your own tutu station! Fun!
On the way out she also got to see Wyatt himself from Super Why!
What a fun afternoon!
