Halloween {2012}

This year for Halloween Miss Elena begged to be a popstar! From her current favorite movie obsession, Barbie Princess and the Popstar. So we got her all dolled up - even with purple hair! (It looked more pink though!) She was quite the entertainer all day - she hardly ever broke character - ha ha!

A fantastic idea if you don't want to buy boots! Here is the tutorial - I have a feeling it is going to come in handy for several costumes in our future!

 She was so excited for her party at school - and I was excited too because I took the day off of work to be the room mom and hang with the kiddos all day! :) Little D even dressed up for the party!  

I had them do a little Frankenstein craft and then they enjoyed way to many yummy treats!

Their little class was so adorable! (Check out the red solo cup on the right! Her costume even played the song!) 

We went home and got to hang out all day and then carved our pumpkins!

We made one face per Elena's request - triangle eyes and scary teeth!

But I already had plans for the other pumpkin...

Ha ha ha! :) I couldn't resist.

He was so stinking adorable!! I couldn't stop taking pictures!

Then we had some dinner, handed out candy and headed out to trick or treat ourselves! (I even got Cooper in on the dressing up action!)

It was dark and cold so we only went to a couple houses close to us.

Elena was definitely a DIVA by the end of the night!

Pumpkin Patch {2012}

We snuck in our annual trip to the pumpkin patch the weekend before Halloween this year. It had suddenly turned cold so we were a little worried but it ended up being a beautiful day! Elena had a blast playing with all the activities.

Did you notice Elena's straight hair? She'd been begging me to straighten it for her so I did on this day and it looked so much older and she looked so much older to me!

Dominic was pretty content to just hang out and watch. He was fascinated by all the stuff going on to look at. :)

He got in on some of the fun too though!

 

I just love this picture of Robert and the kids! What a great Dad!!

Elena really wanted to shoot the paintball gun this year ~ I have no idea why ~ but she loved it! Go figure.

And of course the big pumpkin gun too!

Then it was time to catch a ride out to the pumpkin patch.

There were tons of big pumpkins to choose from!

Spooky Projects.

I love finding fun projects to do along with Holidays. Here is what we did this year for fun projects, courtesy of Pinterest of course! :)

~ Mummy Oreo Pops ~

They were a perfect treat for Elena's class party, plus I found this adorable Frankenstein craft for them to do too!

Very gross but totally yummy! Elena's concentration face just cracks me up!

I also had so much fun with food this year! Quesadilla pumpkin and pumpkin and ghost pancakes!

This was definitely my favorite of all the projects though! I just love those little ghost feet! I know I am going to be so happy that I did this when they are older!

Leaves!

Last weekend the weather was unseasonably warm. When I say warm, I mean like almost 90°!! Crazy! So I decided to do some yard work rake leaves to take pictures of Elena playing in them!  :) She had a blast, and I ended up raking the leaves over and over and over again!

As you can see in the faces below - there was a lot of happy screaming going on!

We decided to also take advantage of the nice day and head to the park later on. Dominic got to try out the swing for the first time! I think he is a fan! Elena was ecstatic that she got to push him! :)

The weather has been colder and colder since then so I am really glad that we got outside to enjoy it!
