Nails.

Elena has been begging me to paint her fingernails lately. I've done her toenails several times and she loves it but never her fingernails. Not sure why she wanted them painted suddenly - considering I hardly ever have my nails painted!! So I gave in and painted them for her. She did really well and even sat still while they dried (I used a hairdryer on cool to speed up the process)!


After hers were done she insisted that mine needed painting too - so now we have matching hot pink nails!;)

She picked up the dryer and was drying her hair after we were done. Too funny!

The Alley.

I don't know about you and your kiddos but Elena has been bouncing off the walls going crazy with energy lately! I'm sure it is because we can't go outside for more that a few minutes without freezing to death! So we went to the Alley with our friends the other night to try to burn off some of that energy! She was ready to bowl!

So was her buddy Drake!

They totally look like Smurfs in this picture! :)

Baby Kennedy was hanging out watching all the action. She is such a happy baby!

Even with these two crazies crawling all over her!

She even did a little bowling, with help from her Daddy! Believe it or not he actually got a strike on this one - she must be his good luck charm!

Elena and Drake decided to create their own little game with the bowling ball!

It was so nice to get out of the house and have a fun evening with our good friends!

Love bugs.

After dinner Elena and I did a fun little project while we watched the snow come down, we made love bugs! All you need to make love bugs is - empty toilet paper rolls, pipe cleaners, googly eyes, glue, tape, crayons, stickers, glitter, pom poms and any other fun things you think would look cute on wings. Elena got so excited when I laid out all the supplies for her!

I cut out heart shaped wings for the bugs and she got to work decorating them.

She is now officially in love with glitter! :)

Adding the fun eyes - she is so serious when she is concentrating on something!

Then I helped her attach the wings to the back of the toilet paper rolls and the pipe cleaners for antennae. (I ended up using tape which worked very easily!) How adorable are these little love bugs?!

She was so proud that she had decorated them [almost] all by herself!

The aftermath! And you can't even see the layer of glitter that is covering everything in this picture - ha ha! But honestly this was a great little project that she enjoyed so much and I had fun too! She literally stayed focused for a good 45 minutes!! (I believe that is impressive for any 2 year old!)

We put them up on the little shelf between our living room and kitchen and she thought that was so awesome!

So if you've got some extra toilet paper rolls laying around you should try this fun little Valentine's project! :)

More snow.

I know you are probably sick of seeing pictures of Elena in the snow...but I can't help it! She has so much fun and loves it, so i can't stop myself from taking more pictures! Even worse, we are supposed to get up to 6 more inches of snow in the next couple of days!! So crazy! So just a heads up there will probably be more snow pictures coming. But until then let these tide you over! Ha!

I think she expects all snow to taste like snow ice cream now!!

We also made her first snowman. Who just happened to get necklaces and a tiara! ;) So I guess she was really more a snow-princess! Elena still decided to name her Frosty though!!
